Rewalsar is a gem of a place in Mandi district , though not very popular among the tourists especially domestic indian tourist. When I reached the place most of the touring crowd were either foreigners or people from near and around places of Mandi who locally know of rewalsar.
I was here during my return from Jalori (Click here to go to blog on Jalori) to delhi and luckily got information about this lovely city from a local person. It was only 25 kms from Mandi.
It is a typically peaceful town with Buddhist monasteries, Sikh gurudwaras and beautiful lakes. When you roam around the town you can easily find find people meditating in peaceful corners. Followers of Lord Buddha clad in saffron and red dresses roaming in the town and especially the young monks who study in the Buddhist monastery give the city a very traditional look.
For me it was as though I have reached Sarnath in Banaras where lord buddha preached his first lesson and sarnath has been elevated to mountains :).
Anyways i roamed around in town. Spent some time in the monastery. Probably i had never seen a monastery so close and in such details. I was here for 3-4 hrs and after that I continued my journey back to delhi.
